My story is a bit bumpy and a little raw, but it's mine none the less.

I'm proud of where I am today and I hope that by sharing a glimpse of how I got from point A to B, it can inspire you to take that leap of faith to change your life. I'm a single, 30 year old mother of two young boys, but that's not really where the story starts.
It's starts about 6 years ago when I found out I was pregnant with my first son, Gabe. My then husband and I were so excited but pretty terrified. Would he be healthy, was I eating the right foods, exercising too much...not enough? I had no idea and I found it difficult to get the right answers, everything was so confusing. Everyone had a different theory and every book I picked up said something different. I was so not feeling that "glow" everyone talks about.
I struggle with my weight and depression towards the end of the pregnancy and tipped the scale 75 lbs heavier than I started. I felt really uncomfortable in my body and it took a huge toll on my self confidence. I had a pretty typical "American-style birth", complete with an induction and an epidural. It was not the calm, hospital water birth I had planned by any stretch of the imagination.
I struggled to lose the weight from my first pregnancy and when it seemed time to have our second child, I tried not to let that hinder my resolve to have it be an amazing time in my life. I armed myself with knowledge about how to achieve the pregnancy and birth I wanted for myself. I surrounded myself with people who I knew would help me reach my goals. My second son Judah came into this world 10 days late in a little under 4 hours. It was a completely drug free, stress free and life changing experience. It left me feeling empowered and it was the doorway that eventually led me to become a Holistic Health Coach.
After the birth of my second son I knew I had to change. I watched members in my family struggle with weight and serious cardiac issues and I knew that wasn't the place I wanted to be. I was sick of looking in the mirror and not recognizing the person I saw. So I decided to do something crazy, something super outrageous...I decided it was time to stop making excuses and really commit to changing my life.

I found a holistic health coach through a friend. I had no idea what that really was or how she could help me but somehow I knew this was a person I had to see. I initially signed on for 3 months and stayed for 8. She opened my eyes to the life I had been missing out on. The fog lifted and I felt strong enough to make really big changes in my life. I discovered what was working, what wasn't and how simple shifts created amazing outcomes. It hasn't been easy and I have continued to grow and stretch into the person I have become. Oh and yes, I did lose weight and I'm continuing to lose it, even now, well over a year later.
